What is the Elementary School-Readiness Program?
A specialized elementary readiness program for children in ABA therapy, combining academics, behavior support, and social-emotional learning in a structured small-group and 1:1 model. These programs are for students needing to acquire school-readiness skills prior to being on a school campus, and the program is intentionally designed to complement clinic-based ABA services, not replace them.
We combine 1:1 teaching and small-group practice to teach the skills that matter most for school success, working alongside each student's ABA provider to create a more complete support system through coordinated programming and consistent communication.
Program focus
What the program focuses on
School-Readiness Academics
Letter and sound recognition, early sight words, number sense and counting foundations, fine motor and early writing readiness, and listening to and following one- to two-step directions.
Classroom-Ready Skills
Following classroom directions and routines, managing transitions between activities, attending to short lessons and tasks, participating in group activities, and building independence in daily classroom routines.
Social-Emotional Learning
Emotional identification and self-awareness, self-regulation and calming strategies, flexible thinking and problem-solving steps, turn-taking, sharing and peer interaction, and asking for help.
Communication & Independence
Functional communication skills to support classroom participation, requesting, responding and commenting appropriately, and generalizing skills across home, clinic, and school settings.
How the program works
1:1 Instruction
Individualized academic sessions targeting each student's specific school-readiness goals. Lessons are structured, paced appropriately, and designed to build mastery before moving to the next skill level, with progress monitoring aligned to each student's learning plan.
Small-Group Learning
Guided group sessions where students practice peer interaction, classroom participation, and cooperative learning in a structured, supportive environment: circle time and shared reading, partner and group tasks, peer modeling, and cooperative problem-solving.
Why it works
Targeted 1:1 teaching builds mastery while small-group sessions teach peer-ready skills and routines. Regular coordination with ABA therapists ensures goals are consistent and progress transfers across settings. Every student begins with a functional baseline assessment covering academics, communication, and classroom readiness; from there, an Individualized Learning Plan sets clear, measurable goals, monthly progress summaries are shared with families and ABA providers, and transition planning supports next-step school placement, push-in supports, or gradual classroom integration.

Yes. The School-Readiness Program is designed to complement clinic-based ABA services, not replace them, so your child's therapy hours and clinical ownership stay with your provider.
