Admissions

Enrollment is open year-round.

We proudly welcome year-round enrollment for students who benefit from individualized instruction and specialized programming, and we accept students mid-year, based on program availability and student needs.

How it works

What does the admissions process look like?

A six-step process: Initial Inquiry, Campus Tour & Program Overview, Application & Required Documentation Submission, Records Review & Admissions Team Evaluation, Student Shadow Day, and Intake/Enrollment Meeting.

  1. Initial Inquiry

Families contact Goodwin Learning Academy to learn more about our educational programs, services, and admissions process.

  2. Campus Tour & Program Overview

Families meet with a GLA representative for a campus tour or a virtual consultation via Google Meet, whichever fits your family, and an overview of our educational philosophy, individualized instructional model, available services, and school expectations. Families will also share a bit about your child’s needs, learning style, and goals.

Book either one any time, before or after you apply: Schedule a Tour

  3. Application & Required Documentation Submission

Families submit a completed enrollment application along with all required documentation and educational goals.

The application is on this page: Start the application

  4. Records Review & Admissions Team Evaluation

The Admissions Team carefully reviews all submitted documentation to determine whether Goodwin Learning Academy is able to appropriately meet the student’s academic, behavioral, social-emotional, functional, and therapeutic needs.

  5. Student Shadow Day

Students participate in a structured trial visit within the educational setting being considered for placement.

  6. Intake/Enrollment Meeting

Following completion of the admissions process, the Admissions Team meets with the family to determine if Goodwin Learning Academy is a good fit, we finalize any outstanding enrollment paperwork, walk through ESA funding if applicable, and schedule the student’s start date.

FAQ

More admissions questions, answered.

What is your student-to-teacher ratio?

Instruction is highly individualized, one-to-one and small-group, built around each student's strengths, needs, and learning style, and aligned with Arizona State Standards throughout. Every student works directly with a qualified teaching professional.

How does ESA funding work?

Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program provides funds for eligible students to attend private schools like Goodwin Learning Academy. We are fully approved ESA vendors and can assist with the application process, whether you are already enrolled in the program or applying for the first time. ESA funds can cover full tuition costs.

How much does tuition cost at Goodwin Learning Academy?

Goodwin Learning Academy is an ESA-approved private school, and ESA funds can cover full tuition costs for qualifying Arizona families. For current tuition details and what enrollment would look like for your family, contact our admissions team through the form on our contact page or by phone. We respond within 24 hours.

Do you provide transportation?

Families arrange their own way to our Mesa campus, and we are not able to provide or coordinate transportation. If the drive is the hard part, our in-home and virtual programs bring a teacher to your child anywhere in Arizona, so many of our families never make the trip at all. We are glad to talk through which option fits you best.
